Living Independently Overview
Kennedy Residential Services provide a wide variety of living arrangements tailored to the needs of each person with a disability.
An array of services is provided through an individually designed person-centered overall plan of services.
Services may include:
- daily living task training
- functional skills and safety practices training
- health-related activities
- enhancement of interpersonal relationships
- financial management
- recreational activities
Delivery of services is directed through a team process, which includes the involvement of the consumer and his/her family members.
Placement choices range from twenty-four hour support to independent living to a “Home of Your Own.”
The following licensed community residential programs offer daily opportunities to express individual choices within a supervised setting. Services are individually designed to promote independent living skills, community involvement and exploration of self-sufficiency:
- Beacon Court, Carroll Apartments, Condos North, Maridot Manor, and Probus House are all located in Bridgeport
- Old Good Hill in Oxford
- Broadhurst Manor in Fairfield
- Daniels Farm in Trumbull
- Wayne Road in Milford
- HASCO and Dan Smith Homes in Monroe
- Connors Lane and Marina Drive in Stratford
- Fans Rock in Hamden
